Who We Are
The American Discovery Trail was created in 1990-91 to provide a route for walkers, bikers, equestrians and others to travel across the country on a mixture of off-road trails and on-road experiences, going through major cities as well as rural towns and wilderness areas.
What We Do
The American Discovery Trail goes goes from Calif to Delaware (6,800 miles) and has two legs in IL: one from Davenport to Chicago and one from St. Louis down to Carbondale and then over to Evansville. We are doing a sea-to-shining sea relay in the second half of 2026 and would love for people in Illinois to participate.. discoverytrail.org
