Chicago Food Rescue

Who We Are

CFR bridges the gap between food waste and food insecurity in our city. We aim to make good food accessible to anyone in need, free of charge, wherever they are. We believe that no one should go hungry when there is an abundance of food available. We strive to create a more equitable and sustainable food system in Chicago by connecting excess food with those in need.

Our Mission is to increase access to nutritious food and reduce environmental impact by rescuing surplus food and delivering it to individuals and communities in need.

What We Do

Volunteers pick up excess food from food donors (grocery stores, restaurants, bakeries, farmers markets, etc.) and deliver directly to nonprofit community organizations serving those experiencing food insecurity.
