SIP Arts Foundation, Inc. is an Illinois nonprofit serving families of young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Madison and St. Clair Counties. Founded and led by Shauna Gholston, a special educator with nearly two decades of experience, we work at the intersection of arts, education, and advocacy. Our belief is simple: every family deserves support, inclusion, and a clear path forward.
What We Do
SIP Arts Foundation provides free workshops, resources, and creative programming that help Metro East families navigate disability, special education, and mental health systems. Our workshop series guides parents and caregivers through understanding disabilities and eligibility, their rights under IDEA, the IEP process, and how to access services beyond school. We also use storytelling, publishing, and the arts to build community, reduce isolation, and give families a voice.
