The IDHS-Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service in partnership with the Illinois State Fair is recruiting shift leaders and special volunteers 18 and over to help provide a more sensory-friendly environment at the fair.
Volunteers are needed to assist with:
- Registration
- Clean-up
- Floaters
REQUIRED ORIENTATION & TRAINING
- Orientation: August 3 @ 12:00 pm at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, Emmerson Building & virtual.
- Training: Volunteers must complete online required training considering the population's needs

While the Sensory Station is an indoor facility, please be aware that there is a walk from the parking lot to the building. In August, this can be a hot and humid walk.
Plan to arrive at fairground 15 minutes before the shift, to allow time to walk from the parking lot to the building.
